Shocking Incident in Rivers State: Woman Bites Off Lover’s Manhood During Intimacy Dispute

A disturbing and bizarre incident has left residents of Mile 3 Diobu in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, in shock after a woman allegedly bit off the tip of her lover’s manhood during an argument over intimacy. The dramatic scene unfolded on Thursday, May 15, 2025, and has since gone viral on social media, drawing reactions from Nigerians across the country.

According to eyewitness accounts, the woman—identified as 43-year-old Gift—was at home with her lover, a man simply known as Sunday, when the incident occurred. Reports suggest that Sunday requested to be intimate with Gift, but she refused, accusing him of frequently using sex-enhancing drugs. The refusal led to a heated argument between the couple, which quickly escalated.

In a shocking turn of events, Gift allegedly defended herself by biting off the cap of Sunday’s manhood. Eyewitnesses say Sunday began screaming in pain, drawing the attention of neighbors who rushed to the scene. Some members of the community were so enraged by what had happened that they attempted to physically assault Gift. Fortunately, the police arrived just in time to prevent the situation from getting even worse.

Gift was promptly arrested and taken into custody by officers from the Nkpolu Police Division. Meanwhile, Sunday was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors are currently battling to save what remains of his severely injured organ.

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are underway. They also advised the public to refrain from jumping to conclusions until all the facts are verified.

This shocking episode has stirred conversations around domestic disputes, relationship boundaries, and the misuse of intimacy as a tool of control or conflict. While some have sympathized with Gift, believing she acted out of self-defense, others have expressed deep concern over the rising cases of violent altercations in romantic relationships.

It’s not the first time such a case has made headlines in Nigeria. Similar stories have surfaced in recent years, sparking discussions on the need for better communication, anger management, and access to counseling for couples.

Experts warn that relationships built on a foundation of distrust, aggression, or manipulation can easily spiral into violence. They advise that both men and women seek healthier ways to manage disagreements, and if necessary, walk away from toxic relationships before they become dangerous.

As investigations continue, Nigerians are left wondering what led to such a brutal act—and what could have been done to prevent it.

For now, both individuals are receiving attention from the police and medical personnel, and the case will likely unfold further in the coming days.
