The operation, conducted in Delta State, led to the recovery of 50 AK-47 rifles, six pump-action shotguns, and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition. The DSS is currently investigating the motive behind the smuggling and any potential connections to local or international criminal networks.

The DSS has urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to arms trafficking. The agency reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the nation’s security and dismantling illegal arms networks operating within the country.
