She took home the award for Outstanding Music Direction at the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, thanks to her powerful performance of “Hold My Hand” before this year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans.
This marks a major milestone in Gaga’s career, leaving her just one Tony Award away from the rare EGOT honor—an achievement that includes an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
Only 19 artists in history have earned all four.

Gaga’s emotional performance paid tribute to the victims of a tragic terror attack in New Orleans, as well as those affected by Hurricane Helene and the Los Angeles wildfires.
She performed on a street in New Orleans, singing at a piano alongside a local gospel choir.
The song, which was originally featured in Top Gun: Maverick, captured hearts across the nation.
Gaga shared the win with a team of producers and editors, including Seth Dudowsky, Bill Richards, Joel Santos, Jesse Weiss, Brad Zager, and Joe Nargi.
This Emmy joins her growing list of honors, which already includes 14 Grammy Awards and an Oscar for “Shallow” from A Star Is Born.
Still, some fans and critics are debating whether a Sports Emmy should count toward EGOT status.
While some argue only Primetime Emmys should qualify, GoldDerby notes that past winners have included Daytime, News, and Sports Emmys.
If included, Gaga becomes the closest anyone has come to EGOT status with a Sports Emmy.
Even the official Emmys X account celebrated, saying they were “putting the ‘E’ in Lady Gaga’s E-G-O, she’s just short of the T!” Fans online quickly joined in, with one calling her “the most iconic pop star of our time” and another praising her as “the most versatile performer of our generation.”
Adding some humor, many fans brought up Gaga’s close bond with the late Tony Bennett, joking that she already has “the best kind of Tony.”
The two became friends after their 2011 duet “The Lady Is a Tramp”, later releasing two Grammy-winning albums—Cheek to Cheek and Love for Sale.
Gaga often said Bennett helped her rediscover her love for music, and she even has a tattoo of a trumpet he sketched for her.
As Gaga edges closer to EGOT glory, her journey shows how she continues to evolve and make history.
Whether it’s through Broadway or another theatrical project, there’s no doubt Lady Gaga’s legacy as a game-changing artist is already set in stone.
