Fireboy DML Reveals Father’s Disapproval of His Tattoos: “He May Never Forgive Me”
Nigerian musical sensation and international star, Fireboy DML, born Adedamola Adefolahan, has opened up about a personal struggle involving his father’s strong disapproval of his tattoos.
During a recent interview on the 90s Baby Show, the 29-year-old hitmaker shared how his body art has created a rift in their relationship.
Fireboy DML revealed that while his father tolerates his piercings, he is deeply upset by the tattoos. The “Peru” crooner admitted that the disapproval runs so deep that he believes his father “might never forgive” him for getting inked. To maintain peace during family visits, the award-winning Afrobeats artist covers his tattoos with a jalabiya, a traditional long robe.
Despite the tension, Fireboy stands by his decision, explaining that his tattoos are a form of self-expression and not related to his career in music. “Even if I worked in a bank, I’d still have tattoos,” he stated, underlining the personal significance behind the ink.
