President Tinubu to Depart Abuja for Katsina: A Threefold Mission
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a two-day official visit to Katsina State, the home state of his predecessor, Muhammadu Buhari, on May 2 and 3, 2025. The visit encompasses three key engagements: commissioning agricultural equipment, assessing security situations, and attending a gubernatorial family event.
1. Commissioning of Agricultural Mechanisation Centre
On the first day of his visit, President Tinubu will commission the Katsina Agricultural Mechanisation Centre. This initiative, spearheaded by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda, aims to enhance agricultural productivity through the introduction of mechanised farming equipment. The centre represents a significant step towards modernising agriculture in the region, promoting food security, and boosting the local economy.
2. Security Assessment and Stakeholder Engagement
In light of ongoing security challenges in the northwest, President Tinubu will engage with key stakeholders to assess the security landscape in Katsina State. Discussions will focus on strategies to combat banditry and other security threats, ensuring the safety and well-being of residents. This engagement underscores the administration’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.
3. Attendance at Governor Radda’s Daughter’s Wedding
Concluding his visit, President Tinubu will attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda’s daughter. This personal engagement reflects the President’s support and camaraderie with state leadership, fostering stronger ties between federal and state governments.
This visit marks President Tinubu’s first official trip to Katsina State since assuming office on May 29, 2023. It signifies a continued collaboration between the current administration and former President Buhari, highlighting a unified approach to national development and governance.
