Elisha Abbo Accuses Akpabio of Running Senate Like Personal Empire
Former Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of managing the Nigerian Senate as a personal empire, claiming senators are subservient to him. Speaking on Arise News, Abbo alleged that Akpabio orchestrated the removal of lawmakers who opposed him, including himself.
Abbo recalled rejecting Akpabio’s request for support during his Senate President bid, stating he was already backing another candidate. He also revealed that Akpabio offered financial inducements to senators, which he refused.
The former senator accused Akpabio of vindictively denying him his vehicle after his removal and sidelining Senator Ali Ndume for challenging Senate leadership. He criticized Akpabio for rewriting Senate rules to allow first-term senators to take leadership positions, further consolidating his control.
Abbo concluded by condemning Akpabio’s leadership style, claiming, “Senators serve him tea at his house,” and reaffirming his defense of the Senate’s integrity, separate from its leadership.

Fireboy DML Reveals Father’s Disapproval of His Tattoos: “He May Never Forgive Me”

Nigerian musical sensation and international star, Fireboy DML, born Adedamola Adefolahan, has opened up about a personal struggle involving his father’s strong disapproval of his tattoos.

During a recent interview on the 90s Baby Show, the 29-year-old hitmaker shared how his body art has created a rift in their relationship.

Fireboy DML revealed that while his father tolerates his piercings, he is deeply upset by the tattoos. The “Peru” crooner admitted that the disapproval runs so deep that he believes his father “might never forgive” him for getting inked. To maintain peace during family visits, the award-winning Afrobeats artist covers his tattoos with a jalabiya, a traditional long robe.

Despite the tension, Fireboy stands by his decision, explaining that his tattoos are a form of self-expression and not related to his career in music. “Even if I worked in a bank, I’d still have tattoos,” he stated, underlining the personal significance behind the ink.

As tattoos become increasingly popular among Nigerian celebrities, Fireboy DML’s story highlights the generational gap and cultural differences still present in many African households. While he continues to break boundaries in the music industry, Fireboy remains unapologetically true to his identity—tattoos “My and all.
